Outreach Program
The Outreach Program of the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies serves K-12 public, private and charter schools in the greater New England area in providing resources for teaching about Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The US Department of Education funds these activities under its Title VI grant, which designates a number of universities as National Resource Centers.
Directed by Cris Martin, the Outreach Program assists educators, students, and the community in a variety of ways. Some of the Outreach Program's most commonly used resources include:
The Source
The Source is a monthly email newsletter featuring Outreach Program events and resources, as well as information about New England–based events and resources relating to Russian, Eastern European, and Central Asian language, culture, and history. Additionally, the Source contains links and news articles of potential interest to teachers, students and others interested in the region. To subscribe, please email Cris Martin at davisop@fas.harvard.edu.
Teacher Workshops
Outreach Program workshops are designed for K-12 teachers. Professional Development Points (PDP) credits may be received for workshop participation in compliance with state guidelines. For all-day workshops, a nominal fee to cover the cost of lunch may apply. View current workshops »
