The web site also offers additional features, including newsmaker interviews, book reviews and a discussion forum. The site is operated by the Central Eurasian Project of the Open Society Institute.

CIA World Factbook
The World Factbook is produced and published annually by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). It provides brief factual and graphical surveys of the economic, geographic and political conditions of some 267 countries, dependent areas and other entities. As described by the CIA, its content, coverage, style and format are purposefully designed to meet the specific needs of US Government officials. This version of the World Factbook includes maps for each country, and regional reference maps.

EIU Country Reports (Economist Intelligence Unit)
The EIU (Economist Intelligence Unit) Country Reports provide quarterly analysis and forecasts of the political, economic and business environment in more than 180 countries. Included in each Country Report is a detailed review and analysis of political and economic events, a compilation of the latest economic indicators as well as a 12-24 month political outlook and economic projection. Annual Country Profiles include statistical tables covering five years of the main macroeconomic indicators. Among countries and areas for which there are headings: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijian, Baltic States, Belarus, Bosnia & Hercegovina, Bulgaria. Central Asia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Eastern Europe, Estonia, Georgia, Greece Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, andYugoslavia.
