Dissertation Completion Fellowships

Overview
The Davis Center for Russian Studies
conducts an annual competition for full-year fellowships for the
completion of a doctoral dissertation in the humanities or social
sciences pertaining to Russia, Eastern Europe, or Central Asia.
In 2008-09, the fellowship will provide a living stipend of $21,830, plus funds to cover the Harvard
facilities fee and individual health insurance.
Office space and access to computer
facilities at the Davis Center will be provided.
Applicants will be judged by their
overall merit, the importance of the topic, the clarity of the proposal,
and the potential for scholarly contribution.

Eligibility
Harvard doctoral candidates in the humanities
or social sciences who anticipate completion of the dissertation
by
June 30, 2009.
Requirements
This
is a resident fellowship. Recipients must be at the University for
the duration of the fellowship.
Recipients of this award may not accept other fellowships
(including teaching fellowships) for the award year.
Application
The Davis Center uses the GSAS standard dissertation completion fellowship application form. Please download this form and the Davis Center's application cover sheet from the GSAS dissertation completion fellowships web site. The completed application and cover sheet should be turned in to the Davis Center by Tuesday, March 1, 2008. Students entering graduate programs in 2005 and beyond should review the new GSAS guidelines on dissertation completion fellowships.
