| Sakharov Human Rights Internship Grants
The Davis Center offers Sakharov Human Rights Internship Grants of up to $5,000 to carry out internships in organizations in Russia, Eastern Europe, or Central Asia whose activities contribute to the field of human rights, broadly defined.
Eligibility Full-time currently-enrolled students at Harvard College who have an interest in human rights in this world area, and whose competency in the local language is sufficient to fulfill the terms of the internship. Depending on the particular placement and host organization, prior study of the local language may not be required. The Davis Center may be able to facilitate some internship placements; interested applicants should contact Donna Griesenbeck to discuss. Requirements Grant recipients are expected to carry out an internship of at least six weeks in Russia, Eastern Europe, or Central Asia. Upon completion of the internship, grant recipients shall submit an expense report and a brief narrative report describing their activities and accomplishments, any obstacles encountered, and any anticipated impact on future academic or career goals. Grant recipients are also expected to participate in Davis Center student outreach activities.
These grants may cover only a portion of your internship-related expenses, so be sure to apply to all eligible funding sources. See the Funding Sources Database for other options.
NOTE: Applications to the Sakharov Human Rights Internship Grant will also be considered for the Goldman Internship Grant. Do not submit duplicate applications for the Sakharov and Goldman Internship Grants.
