In the early 1990s, Hugh worked briefly as an assistant—and envelope-stuffer—at the Russian Research Center before going on to work for The New York Times in both the New York and Washington offices as a graphic editor. More recently, Hugh has done archival processing at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum and the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center at Boston University.
