Nini Arshakuni is a native of Tbilisi, Georgia. She graduated from Williams College in 2017, where she majored in philosophy and psychology. While in college, she interned at Hudson Institute's Kleptocracy Initiative in Washington, D.C., and did research on financial corruption and power networks in Russia and Ukraine. This internship was transformative as it made her passionate to continue researching and writing on Russia and Eastern Europe. Nini's current research interests include corruption and power networks in Russia and Ukraine, nation-building and nationalism in post-Soviet countries, democratic reforms and civil society, ethnic conflicts in South Caucasus, and U.S.-Russia relations.
