Nini Arshakuni grew up in Tbilisi, Georgia, with two native languages - Georgian and Russian. Coming of age after the Rose Revolution, conversations about politics and international affairs have been part of her life since adolescence. After finishing the American Academy in Tbilisi, Nini came to the U.S. for her bachelor's degree. In 2017 she graduated from Williams College, majoring in philosophy and psychology. While a junior in college, she discovered that she was passionate about studying and analyzing Russian domestic politics and foreign policy, as well as international relations in the post-Soviet space and decided to come to Harvard to pursue her own research and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of Russia and Eurasia. At Harvard, Nini has focused on Russian domestic politics, geopolitics in the South Caucasus, Russia's foreign policy, energy policy, and U.S-Russia relations.
