A.M. CANDIDATE IN REGIONAL STUDIES—REECA
Vikki's background as a Russian-speaking Estonian has fostered her interest in the intricate relationships between Russian foreign policy and Russian ethnic minorities throughout the post-Soviet world. In particular, she is interested in the mechanisms of Russian interference and media control in the region and their effect on civil society and the maintenance of democracy. Vikki studied History and Politics in Oxford University, with special emphasis on the study of revolutions and protest movements. In the REECA program, Vikki will continue her study of revolution and protest as a form of resistance to Russian foreign policy and, occasionally, as the outcome of the same.
