Former Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Legislative Affairs Bureau, U.S. Department of State; Fellow, Negotiation Task Force

Danny Stoian is currently a Fellow with the Negotiation Task Force at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard and most recently served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Legislative Affairs Bureau at the U.S. Department of State. Previously he served as the Deputy Executive Director in the South Central Asia Bureau, overseeing the operations of 27 SCA missions and 17 domestic offices across NEA and SCA.  Prior to that position, he served as the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, overseeing the creation of the Office of Data Analytics, launch of the Knowledge Portal, and publication of the QDDR.  As a Foreign Service Officer, he has served in both reporting and management positions in Saudi Arabia, Rwanda, Tunisia, and Bahrain.  In Washington D.C. he worked in the Operations Center and as Special Assistant to the Undersecretary for Management.  Prior to government service, he worked in management consulting and also helped launch AdventureGear.com and EmailLabs.  He received his masters of public administration at Harvard University, and completed his undergraduate work in computer science engineering and international relations at the University of California at Davis.
