Hatice Karahan is a Professor of Economics, and heads the Department of Economics and Finance at Istanbul Medipol University. She also works in the President’s Office of the Republic of Turkey as a Senior Economic Advisor.
Karahan’s research interests include development, foreign aid, macroeconomics, energy, labor economics and women’s studies. Her latest book, The Quest for a New International Aid Architecture, has been published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2020.
Karahan received her Ph.D. degree in Economics from Syracuse University in 2006. She also holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Bogazici University in Management and Economics, respectively.
