Toby Cox is a graduate student at Harvard Divinity School’s Master of Theological Studies (MTS) program, where she focuses on ecotheologies, Zoroastrianism, Islam, Tengrism, and Central Asian shamanism. Toby researches the spiritual impacts of climate change on communities facing resource degradation and how religious movements are used to reclaim cultural identities in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. As a journalist, her work can be found in National Geographic, The Diplomat, Summerhouse DC, and The Central Virginian newspaper. She is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Jordan and Kyrgyzstan, an alumna of the Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowship, a UVa graduate.
