Vahe Lskavyan is an Associate Professor of Economics at Ohio University. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis in 2005. He has also studied economics in the Czech Republic and has an engineering degree from Armenia. His research interests are in the areas of political economy, corporate and comparative governance, regulation, corruption and foreign investment. In a current research project he is using recently declassified data from the Soviet Union to explore agent recruitment practices of the secret service and the effect of economic and political reforms of the 1980s on this process.
