About

The Davis Center is Harvard's gateway to the interdisciplinary study of Russia, Eurasia, and Eastern Europe. Understanding these complex territories and cultures—on their own terms and in historical, regional, and global context—requires sustained expertise across languages, disciplines, and borders. We cultivate this expertise by promoting innovative and accessible scholarship, supporting the research and training of Harvard undergraduate and graduate students, and building scholarly community at Harvard and beyond. We foster debate and equip analysts and practitioners to bring rigorous knowledge to bear on contemporary challenges.

We are a community of students, scholars, and staff who share a dedication to understanding the region more deeply.

The interdisciplinary Russian Research Center (RRC) at Harvard University was founded in 1948 with the hopes that the social sciences could collectively address the pressing national need to understand the Cold War adversary.

The Davis Center collection contains books, periodicals, posters, archives, and objects related to the field of Russian and Eurasian studies, particularly in the areas of political science, economics, sociology, and history.

Donate to the Davis Center and you'll help prepare emerging leaders for success in careers related to Russia, Central Asia, and the greater Eurasian region.

The Davis Center stands with the people of Ukraine and with the many people around the world who are and will be harmed by this war.
