Alex Fisher is a writer and curator from Buffalo, New York pursuing a master’s in Design Studies (Domain: Narratives; Trajectory: Power and Place) at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. His research interests are in the lyricism and lingo of the built environment and (re)formations of legacy, especially in post-socialist contexts. He received his bachelor’s from the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in Economics and History of Art. In 2019-2020, he served as a Fulbright Ukraine Student Research Fellow, during which he studied compound relations between conceptual art, heavy industry, politics, and armed conflict in cooperation with a variety of public and private organizations, including Mystetskyi Arsenal and Izolyatsia. In fall 2021, he curated ‘Dedication - Traces and Tactics,’ an exhibition of Ukrainian contemporary art at Kristianstads konsthall.
