Boris Brevnov is a managing member of Liberty Energy, an energy infrastructure acquisition and development firm whose projects include energy storage, solar, hydrogen, and carbon capture and utilization. He is also an executive board chair of ODIN Inc, an energy engineering, procurement, and construction company co-owned by Chart Industries Inc.
Prior to these roles, Mr. Brevnov held senior positions at global energy company AES, WEC, and Enron in London and Houston. He has also worked as CEO and president of the Russian electric power utility UES in Moscow and served as a board director of a regional Russian power utility and CEO and president of a commercial bank funded by the EBRD and IFC.
Mr. Brevnov has been named a Global Leader for Tomorrow at the World Economic Forum in Davos. In 1998, as a visiting scholar at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, he published a study on deregulation and restructuring in the energy sector of emerging economies. He is a participant of the American Gas Association and served on the economic committee at the Edison Electric Institute.
Mr. Brevnov received two bachelor of science degrees summa cum laude — one in electromechanical engineering from the Nizhegorodsky Polytechnic University in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, in 1992 and the other in economics from Lobachevsky University, also in Nizhny, in 1994. In 1998, he graduated from the Corporate Finance Program at the London School of Economics and in 2001 from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
