Edward (Ed) Nicholson became involved in Russian financial markets in 1996 when he managed the first sale of Gazprom global depositary receipts (GDRs) to European investors for Kleinwort Benson. In 1997 he was hired by Brunswick Brokerage and until 2004 he was the partner in charge of sales and capital markets. In 2004 he became the chairman and CEO of what had become Brunswick UBS. Since leaving UBS in 2008, Ed has been investing in entrepreneurial businesses. He is the chairman of the Advisory Board for Runa Capital and Flashpoint, two early-stage technology VC firms.
