Marika Aleksieieva (M.A. REECA, 2015) works at the New York headquarters of the United Nations Population Fund as a program specialist, covering a global portfolio. Her work focuses primarily on strategic planning, strategic foresight, and financing for development areas. As part of her job, Marika manages the UNFPA Strategic Investment Facility, which supports initiatives that catalyze additional financing toward the achievement of the UNFPA's mandate and the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals. Prior to joining the UNFPA in 2013 as part of its humanitarian response team, Marika worked as a social policy researcher at the Economic Policy Research Institute in Cape Town, South Africa. She is a native of Sumy, Ukraine. In addition to her Harvard degree, she is a graduate of Williams College (B.A., 2013) and the Saïd Business School’s Oxford Scenarios Program (2022).
