Olivia Crough

Olivia Crough is a Ph.D. Candidate in Art, Film, and Visual Studies studying 20th century art, visual culture, and media, with an emphasis on the interwar avant gardes and the politics of (transnational) modernism in the Soviet Union, Europe, and Americas. Her dissertation centers on the Russian Constructivist multimedia artist Varvara Stepanova. Olivia’s research has been supported by the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES), and a Frederick Sheldon Traveling Fellowship. At Harvard she has been a teaching fellow in AFVS, research fellow at the CCVA, and graduate curatorial intern at the Harvard Art Museums. She has recently contributed to publications by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Beirut Art Center (BAC), Musée d’arts de Nantes, and the Busch-Reisinger Museum.
