Susan Grunewald is an Assistant Professor of European History at Southern New Hampshire University. Her first book, From Incarceration to Repatriation: German Prisoners of War in the Soviet Union, was published by Cornell University Press in 2024. She is a specialist on World War II and the early Cold War and heavily uses digital humanities methods such as geographic information system (GIS) mapping and text analysis to enhance her research methods. Her current project examines legal and illegal technology transfer with regard to the development of the Soviet automotive industry.
