Over the past 30 years, scholars studying Soviet foreign policy, Soviet politics, and daily life in the USSR from the 1940s on have been accustomed to pursuing archival research in the former USSR. Russia's war against Ukraine, starting on 24 February 2022, has raised troubling questions about the future of archival research in the former Soviet Union, especially in Ukraine and Russia. This seminar will offer a detailed assessment of where things stood as of February 2022 and will discuss future prospects.
Please note, this seminar is a hybrid event, and you may attend it in person or via Zoom meeting.
