Intern Experiences: Armenia & Georgia

Information Session
Event Format
In person
Address
S250, CGIS South Building, 1730 Cambridge Street

If you are a Harvard student interested in international travel and work experience, and you want to visit a part of the world that is becoming increasingly important in Eurasian trade and transit across Central Asia, China and Europe, come to this talk by four fellow students who spent two months interning in the South Caucasus. Learn more about work and travel opportunities in the region supported by the Davis Center and its Program on Georgian Studies.

Each year, the Davis Center offers at least two fully funded research internships at the Central Bank of Armenia. Interns develop and hone their research, analysis, modeling, and presentation skills while living and working in a world-class facility in a mountain resort town one hour from the capital city of Yerevan. Salini Pillai and Umang Vinayaka will share highlights of their research and talk about daily life as CBA interns, including the travel and cultural opportunities they enjoyed.

Our Program on Georgian Studies offers two fully funded internships in Georgia every summer. The internships provide Harvard students with international work experience, give them insight into Georgian culture, and provide them with new skills. Dmitry Bilous interned at the Georgian Young Lawyers Association, while Ricards Umbrasko interned at Civil.ge, a tri-lingual news website based in Tbilisi.

A light dinner featuring regional cuisine will be served.
