Prof. Plokhii is a featured guest speaker at the Ukreate Hub event "Lithuanian-Ukrainian Heritage: Lessons From History for Present." The discussion will cover the historical relationship between Ukrainians and Lithuanians within the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Ukraine and Lithuania's shared lessons in defending independence and sovereignty, the current political context, what Ukraine and Lithuania can learn from each other in defending their independence and autonomy, and Lithuania's role in supporting Ukraine's European integration.
The discussion is organized by the Civil Consciousness Club, an initiative by the Ukreate Hub in Vilnius, Lithuania, dedicated to fostering dialogue on cultural and social issues. It encourages participants to engage critically with both historical perspectives and contemporary challenges. In collaboration with the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, Harvard University, the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute, and the Ukrainian Youth Group in Lithuania, we offer a unique opportunity for Lithuanians and Ukrainians to participate in meaningful discussions that bridge our histories and shape our future.
