Almas Chukin is Managing Partner of Visor Kazakhstan, one of the largest private equity investment companies in Central Asia. Mr. Chukin has extensive experience in banking and investment, working in executive positions at Halyk Bank, Compass Asset Management and Kazyna Capital. Prior to leaving the public sphere in 1997 he has served in the Ministry of Economy and Finance, as well as Charge d’Affaires at the Kyrgyz Embassy in the United States. Mr. Chukin started his career as an associate professor of political economy at Kyrgyz State University after graduating from undergraduate and post-graduate studies at Moscow State University. He is a regular guest speaker at international and national conferences devoted to issues of economic and social development in Central Asia.
