David Cadier

Assistant Professor of European Politics at the Department of International Relations and International Organisation, University of Groningen

David Cadier is an Assistant Professor of European Politics in the Department of International Relations at the University of Groningen. He is also an Adjunct Lecturer at Sciences Po in Paris. 

His research interests include EU-Russia relations, EU policies towards the post-soviet space, EU member states’ foreign policies, and populism in international relations. David has published on these topics in, inter alia, International Affairs, Geopolitics, Comparative European Politics, Global Policy and International Politics. He is currently working on a book project on France’s policies towards Russia.  

Prior to joining the University of Groningen, David was a researcher at Sciences Po's Centre for International Studies (2018-2021) and a Teaching Fellow in International Strategy and Diplomacy at the London School of Economics (2012-2015). He has held visiting positions at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, SAIS Johns Hopkins University, the Polish Institute of International Affairs, the Prague Institute of International Relations, and the Finnish Institute of International Affairs. He obtained his Ph.D. from Sciences Po.
