Dr. Pocius is a scientific worker at the Genocide and Resistance Research Center of Lithuania since 1995, and from 1997 at the XX Century History Division at the Lithuanian Institute of History. Dr. Pocius graduated from the Faculty of History at Vilnius University (Lithuania) in 1991, and in 2005 maintained a thesis for a degree, "Partisan resistance in Lithuania 1944-1953: the struggle with inhabitants accused of collaboration." His main scientific research fields are: the Soviet modernization of the Lithuanian countryside (1966 - 1990); the problems of the Stalinist period (1944 - 1953) of the Lithuanian History. Dr. Pocius has published extensively on the history of the partisan movement in Lithuania, as well as on topics related to the Communist Party of Lithuania.
