Erik R. Scott is an associate professor of history and director of the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at the University of Kansas. He is the author of "Familiar Strangers: The Georgian Diaspora and the Evolution of Soviet Empire" (OUP, 2016) and editor of The Russian Review.
