Geoffrey Durham is an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His first book project explains why and how the world came to use the metric system and currencies structured by international conventions through a study of the Russian empire and its international entanglements from the late eighteenth century through the early twentieth. He has also begun work on a second project on the history of platinum.
