Khazar Ibrahim is the ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United States, a position he has held since July 2021. Prior to this, he served as Azerbaijan's ambassador to Türkiye from 2017 to 2021 and as head of the mission to NATO from 2011 to 2017. Ambassador Ibrahim has extensive experience in diplomacy, having held key roles such as deputy chief of mission at the Azerbaijani Embassy in the U.S. from 2009 to 2011, and as spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry between 2007 and 2009. He has also worked on national security and NATO relations, contributing to Azerbaijan's national security concept and partnership with NATO. Ambassador Ibrahim holds two master's degrees, one in international relations from Baku State University and another in security studies from Georgetown University, and has taught at Khazar University. He is married with four children.
