Luise Moerke is a writer, critic, and Ph.D. student in Harvard's Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies. Her academic work is focused on art, film, and theatre from East and West Germany that negotiate globalization, reunification, and the non/event of the Mauerfall in relation to the emergence of so-called "global contemporary art" in the 1990s. As a critic, Luise is a frequent contributor to publications like Texte zur Kunst, e-flux, The Brooklyn Rail, and BOMB. She is also on the editorial board of re:visions, an open-access online journal for recent art and visual culture, based at Freie Universität, Berlin.
