Madeleine Giaconia is a Ph.D. student in History of Art and Architecture at Harvard. She studies modern art and empire in Soviet Ukraine and Central Asia. Madeleine holds a B.A. in Radio/Television/Film and Art History from Northwestern University, where she received the J. Carson Webster prize for her honors thesis on Ukrainian art at the 1928 Venice Biennale. Before coming to Harvard, she worked as a video editor at the Art Institute of Chicago and communications coordinator at the Block Museum of Art.
