Miruna Cioc is a rising senior at Harvard College pursuing a joint concentration in government and Slavic languages and literatures, with a secondary field in Romance languages and literatures, and a concurrent master's in regional studies with the Davis Center. Her academic interests are shaped by her background in languages and her experience as an immigrant from Romania. She speaks Romanian, Spanish, and Russian, and is especially interested in the politics of Eastern Europe. Her current research examines the impact of Russian propaganda on immigrant communities abroad, with particular attention to how the Kremlin uses propaganda and nostalgia to garner support. Outside of academics, Miruna is a competitor on the Harvard Undergraduate Mock Trial Team. She competes across the United States and presents legal arguments before judges and juries. Miruna also works with the Children’s Law Center of Massachusetts, where she supports client intake for attorneys representing children in cases involving education, immigration, and delinquency.
