Nana Janelidze is a scriptwriter, film and stage director with 30 years of work experience in the film industry. Her films have won various prizes and awards at multiple film festivals.  She has won two Nika Awards: one for Best Script for the film Repentance (1987) and one for Best Foreign Film for the film Will there be a Theatre up there?! (Netavi iq teatri aris?!) (2011). She is a laureate of the State Prize of Georgia for the film Lullaby (Iavnana) (1994), which has participated in about 50 international film festivals and won major prizes, including at Pesaro IFF, Moscow IFF, Lagovo IFF, and Tbilisi IFF.

Nana Janelidze also established her own production company, “N&N Studio,” in 1999. She was the producer of all the theatre plays, films and videos made in “N&N Studio.” She has written about prominent Georgian filmmakers in the books Tengiz Abuladze–Reflections and Rezo Chkheidze–On the High Road of Film.

She was the Director of the Georgian National Film Centre (GNFC) from 2013 till 2016. Upon completion of her term, she returned to film directing. Her film Liza, Go On is in post-production, and she is also working on the Ukrainian film project Lesyia and a documentary about famous French-Georgian goldsmith, GOUDJI.
