Njord Wegge is a professor of political science at the Norwegian Defense University College and Head of Research at the Norwegian Defense Command and Staff College. Wegge completed his PhD in 2013 at the University of Tromsø, The Arctic University of Norway, focusing on international relations in the Arctic. He has since published extensively on topics related to security and military power in the Arctic, hybrid warfare, intelligence services, democratic control of intelligence services, and intelligence methods. Wegge has been “Chair of Arctic Security” at Marine Corps University in Quantico, where he also was a visiting professor in the fall of 2022. In the spring of 2009, he was a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley. Since 2024, Wegge has also been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tromsø.
