Saltanat Janenova is a Lecturer in Public Policy, School for Policy Studies, University of Bristol (UK), and a Professor at the Public Administration Academy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She has over a decade of experience in teaching and research in public administration and public management. Previously, she worked in the Graduate School of Public Policy, Nazarbayev University (Kazakhstan), and the International Development Department, School of Government, University of Birmingham (UK). Her research interests include public sector reforms in the Eurasia region, open government, corruption, authoritarianism, and public service innovations. Dr. Janenova’s research articles have been published in reputable journals: International Review of Administrative Sciences, International Journal of Public Sector Management, Public Administration and Development, Review of Public Personnel Administration, International Review of Public Policy, and Central Asian Survey. Besides teaching and research, Saltanat has been a national consultant for various international organizations: OECD, UNDP, and EU Delegation to Kazakhstan. Her co-authored “Primer on Policy Communication in Kazakhstan” was recently published by Palgrave Macmillan.
