Sobir Kurbanov is a Program Officer at the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), where he will coordinate and develop programs to advance private sector-led advocacy, good governance norms, and facilitate cross-regional collaboration in Central Asia. With over 20 years of field-based experience, Sobir has developed solid expertise in international development. Prior to his role at CIPE, he worked as a National Program Officer, Economist and Governance Advisor with various Central Asia donor aid agencies (Swiss SECO, UK DFID, IMF), Country Officer at the World Bank in Tajikistan, and later as a consultant at World Bank headquarters in Washington, DC, where he worked with the public and private sector in Eurasia and Tajikistan on topics such as corporate and public sector governance, competition policies, investment climate reform, macroeconomic policy dialogue, and budget transparency.
