Vladimir Gel’man is Professor of Russian and Eurasian Studies at the Aleksanteri Institute, University of Helsinki. He is an author and/or editor of more than twenty books on Russian and post-Soviet politics, including Authoritarian Russia: Analyzing Post-Soviet Regime Changes (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2015) and The Politics of Bad Governance in Contemporary Russia (University of Michigan Press, 2022). His articles have been published in Democratization, Europe-Asia Studies, International Political Science Review, Post-Soviet Affairs, and other scholarly journals.
