William G. Rosenberg received his Ph.D. from Harvard in 1967 and taught for 46 years at the University of Michigan. A former President of the Association for Slavic Studies (ASEEES) and Vice President for Research of the American Historical Association, he was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the European University at St. Petersburg in 2006, serving as Vice Chair until the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In 2010 he was elected to the St. Petersburg Institute of History, RAN. Author, co-author, or editor of 13 books and more than 70 articles, he and his wife Elinor now live in Maine.
