Scholars Without Borders is a new initiative designed to help support scholars whose work has been disrupted by Russia's war on Ukraine. This includes both Ukrainian scholars affected directly by the invasion and Russian and Belarusian scholars who have had to flee their countries. As distinct from scholars-at-risk programs that seek to bring affected academics to the U.S. or elsewhere, this program works on ways to support them where they are currently located. We need help from scholars and institutions based outside the region to support these populations. If you are attending ASEEES, please come by the Davis Center table in the exhibition hall 9am-12pm on Friday, Dec. 1, to meet the staff in charge of this program, become acquainted with the program, and learn how you can help.
