Aviezer Tucker works at the intersection of political theory, philosophy, and history. His main books deal with Neo-Illiberalism and Populism (Democracy Against Liberalism (Polity Press)), Totalitarianism and Post-Totalitarianism (The Legacies of Totalitarianism (Cambridge University Press)) and dissidence (The Philosophy and Politics of Czech Dissidence from Patocka to Havel (Pittsburgh University Press)). His current project is about the historiography of the Communist era. He directs the Centre for the Philosophy of Historiography at the University of Ostrava. His wife, Veronika Tuckerova, teaches at Harvard's Department of Slavic Studies.
