Emma Harutyunyan specializes in early modern Armenian art, with a particular focus on Armenian religious textiles and the translation of images across media and scale. Her research examines the agency of commissioners in the early modern period and the ways their involvement shaped artistic production. Her method combines close looking, sustained attention to objects, material knowledge, and archival research. Emma has a background in curation and cultural management, and holds a B.A. and M.A. from Yerevan State University.
