Fedja Burić is an associate professor of History at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY. His research focuses on mixed marriages in the former Yugoslavia, the use of autobiography in the study of history, and, more recently, on the impact of mass violence on identity, particularly when it comes to perpetrators. His work, using historical analysis to analyze the populist turn in European and American politics, has also appeared in Salon, Balkan Insight, USA Today, and Louisville's Courier Journal. He teaches classes on the history of the Balkans, the Holocaust, a Comparative History of Genocide, World Wars, and Russian history.
