Gabriel Chubinidze completed his Master's degree in Modern Georgian History at Ilia State University, where he is currently employed as a Program Coordinator. Alongside his administrative work, he is actively engaged in research, focusing primarily on the late Soviet period.
His main areas of interest include the Georgian national movement, Georgian civil war, and the Abkhazian War. His master’s thesis, titled “The Abkhazian War: Chaos and Involved Sides,” examined the Georgian Civil War and the Abkhazian War, emphasizing how the chaos at the center affected the periphery.
In 2024, he published an extensive study titled “Transcaucasian Railway – Construction and Protest,” which explored a Soviet railway project intended to cross the Caucasus Mountains and the public opposition that ultimately led to its suspension in 1989.
In addition to his research, Gabriel actively collaborates with local media, writes analytical articles, and contributes to various publications. He is also involved in numerous local and international projects.
