Giorgi Urchukhishvili is a sociologist and gender researcher specializing in masculinities, women's economic empowerment, and gender equality in Georgia. He holds an MA in Gender Studies and teaches at Ilia State University and Georgian National University. In 2016, he founded the discussion club and website "masculinities.ge," a platform for blogs, translations, and research. Currently, a PhD student at Ilia State University, his thesis focuses on toxic masculinity and its harmful effects on women, LGBTQI people, and men.
Giorgi Urchukhishvili has collaborated with international and local organizations on gender equality research. His work includes studies like "Sexist Hate Speech in Georgian Social Media" (UNDP, 2020), and "Young Masculinities in Central Tbilisi" (Heinrich Böll Foundation, 2020). He has also authored policy papers and served as a research consultant on women's political participation and economic empowerment in Georgia.
