Maia Araviashvili, Ph.D. (2015), is an assistant professor of sociology at Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia. She is also head of the Analytical Department at the National Center for Teachers' Professional Development. Her research interests encompass gender equality, the formal and informal organization of civil society, migration, identity transformation, and education.
In recent years, Maia has actively participated in academic fellowships and post-doctoral programs. She was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at The New School university (NYC) during the 2022-2023 academic year, a Faculty Development Program Fellow at the New School for Social Research, and a visiting scholar at the Free University of Berlin under the Joint Rustaveli-DAAD Fellowship Programme. Additionally, she participated in the "Global Approaches to Gender and Law" workshop series at the University of Lucerne, Switzerland.
