This unique gathering will bring together Georgian community members and friends of Georgia to celebrate the launch of new research initiative and website — archived by Harvard Library — documenting the rich and fascinating history of the Georgian diaspora in the United States. Led by the Program on Georgian Studies at the Davis Center, Harvard University, this collaborative project explores and preserves the rich, complex, and often overlooked history of the Georgian diaspora in the U.S.—from the late 19th century to the present day. Through a combination of archival materials and oral history interviews, the initiative uncovers compelling stories of Georgian immigrants and their descendants—from the legendary Gurian trick riders to the many families, individuals, and organizations that helped shape the community over generations. The project website features collections of periodicals, personal archives, photographs, and other unique historical materials, offering a vibrant and multifaceted portrait of the Georgians in the USA.

Hosted in partnership with the Georgian Association in the USA, we invite you to be part of this engaging afternoon of storytelling, community connection, and celebration of Georgian history, culture, and heritage.
