Innovation Fellow, Program on Georgian Studies

Julian Gonzales-Poirier is an alumni of the Davis Center’s Russian, Eastern European, and Central Asian Studies master's program. While at the Davis Center, Julian’s work examined the dynamics of the modern Russian-Turkish relationship from a theoretical perspective. He was the innovation fellow for the Program on Georgian Studies for the 2024-2025 academic year, a position for which he conducted research on Turkish and Iranian foreign policy in the South Caucasus. Outside of the classroom, he conducted open-source research for the U.S. Army’s Foreign Military Studies Office on Russian and Chinese military influence in Eurasia. Before coming to Harvard, Julian graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in Russian in 2023. He currently lives in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he works for the Kyiv School of Economics.
