Innovation Fellow, Program on Georgian Studies

Julian Gonzales-Poirier is an alumnus of our Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia (REECA) master's program. While at the Davis Center, Julian’s work examined the dynamics of the modern Russian-Turkish relationship from a theoretical perspective. He was the innovation fellow for the Program on Georgian Studies for the 2024-2025 academic year, a position for which he conducted research on Turkish and Iranian foreign policy in the South Caucasus. Outside the classroom, he conducted open-source research for the U.S. Army’s Foreign Military Studies Office on Russian and Chinese military influence in Eurasia. Before coming to Harvard, Julian graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Russian in 2023. After earning his master's, he moved to Kyiv, Ukraine, to work for the Kyiv School of Economics.
