Ia Eradze is a political economist specializing in economic development, central banking, and the financial history of Georgia. She holds a Ph.D. in Economic and Social Sciences from the University of Kassel. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs and as a researcher at the Institute for Social and Cultural Research, Ilia State University. Ia was part of the research network Legacies of Communism at the Leibniz Center for Contemporary History in Potsdam and has held visiting research positions at Harvard University, Trinity College, the University of Vienna, Sciences Po Paris, and Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies. She is the author of the monograph “Unravelling Dollarization Persistence: The Case of Georgia,” published by Routledge in 2023.
