Julie A. George

Julie A. George is associate professor of political science at Queens College and The Graduate Center, CUNY. She is also adjunct associate professor at SIPA/the Harriman Institute at Columbia University. Dr. George is the author of Ethnic Separatism in Russia and Georgia (Palgrave Macmillan 2010) and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals. She is associate editor of Nationalities Papers and serves on the editorial boards of Communist and Post-Communist Studies, Problems of Post-Communism, and Caucasus Survey. Dr. George’s work focuses on regime-building, identity, and political transformation in the Caucasus.
