Katherine Lebow (University of Oxford) is a historian of modern Europe with a focus on 20th century Polish, social and transnational history. In addition to her work on everyday life under state socialism, including Unfinished Utopia: Nowa Huta, Stalinism, and Polish Society, 1949-56 (Cornell, 2013), she has published on social science, gender, and popular politics in the interwar period. She is currently completing a monograph on Polish memoir competitions of the 1930s, The People Write! Polish Everyman Autobiography from the Great Depression to the Holocaust, and a translation (with Anna Müller) of the World War II chronicle of feminist activist Halina Krahelska (forthcoming from Oxford University Press).
