Leslie Ann McMillan is a master’s degree student in the field of international relations, with research interests along the Central Asian to Trans-Caspian corridor, including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. Growing cohesion among the Turkic and Tajik states is significant as international and regional power alignments shift following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. An enrolled Chinook Indian Nation member and grant liaison, Leslie is also a research assistant for Daniel Carpenter, Chair, Harvard University Department of Government. Her research supports Professor Carpenter’s scholarship on citizen petitions in American history, with a focus on Native American and slavery issues.
