Nurkhat Zhakiyev is a professor at Astana IT University and a climate change mitigation analyst. After receiving his Ph.D. in physics in 2015, Dr. Zhakiyev worked as a senior researcher at Nazarbayev University until 2020. Since then, he has been the head of the Department of Science and Innovation at Astana IT University. Dr. Zhakiyev is the supervisor of several research projects on energy system modeling and integration of renewables. His research interests include the ﬁeld of advanced computer modeling of energy systems, reduction of losses in HV lines, green energy and environment economics, and application of ML/NN. Dr. Zhakiyev has previously held visiting researcher positions at Gazi University and Dortmund University of Technology.
